The Canossian Daughters of Charity, an international missionary community, established the Canossian Spirituality Center in 1996. The Center is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico and is a ministry of the North American Province.
The Spirituality Center is open to church groups, Catholic organizations, ecumenical groups and educational enterprises. Groups may reserve the center for day or overnight programs and retreats.
The Canossian Spirituality Center offers:
• A spirit of warm hospitality
• Daily Mass (except Sunday) with the Canossian Community
• Two conference rooms; St. Magdalene Conference Room and St. Bakhita Hall
• A beautiful chapel with a natural southwestern ambience
• A small prayer room within the residential area
• Southwest meditation gardens and spacious and serene grounds for reflection and prayer
• An accommodating library, equipped also with video and audio materials for private listening
• Delicious, home cooked meals, buffet style
• A non smoking, alcohol-free environment
• An enclosed walking/running path
• A wellness room with exercise equipment
A visit to the Canossian Spirituality Center provides a fervent prayer partner for you! The small Community of retired Canossian Sisters offers the ministry of their daily prayer for all guests who come to the Center. Guests are remembered at Mass and in community prayer during their entire stay.
The Spirituality Center features shaded lawns, mature trees and landscaped gardens.
The sight and sound of flowing fountains compliment the tranquil environment.
Our Mission
A Ministry of the Daughters of Charity of St. Magdalene of Canossa, our mission for the Canossian Spirituality Center is to provide opportunities for an encounter with God and to offer spiritual support. We endeavor to create an atmosphere of serene hospitality and peace, welcoming our guests as they seek a deeper relationship with God through retreat and prayer, programs of human development, spiritual growth and direction.
Private and directed retreats are also offered at the Spirituality Center. Guests are welcome to spend a day or more in prayer and be refreshed by the center's peaceful surroundings. Spiritual direction is available upon request.
